The trustees, as defined by the Charities Act 2011, are responsible for the overall control and management of the trust in line with its memorandum and articles of association. They serve as the accountable body for the performance of all schools within the trust and have three main responsibilities:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction.
- Holding the executive accountable for educational outcomes and staff performance management.
- Overseeing financial performance to ensure effective use of resources.
The members of the trust have a distinct role from the trustees. They appoint trustees to ensure the trust’s charitable objectives are fulfilled and can remove trustees if necessary. Members also approve changes to the trust’s articles of association.
